Board Notes Samhain 2008 Samhain marks one of the two great doorways of the year, many of us divide the year into two seasons: the light and the dark. Samhain marks the beginning of the darkness and a whole new cycle. It is understood that in dark silence comes whisperings of new beginnings, the stirring of the seed below the ground. As it was before man so it is now. Once a year WRCF holds its annual Witches Ball to celebrate the coming darkness and the Turn of the Wheel. It is also our only major fundraiser, supporting our work for the community in the coming year. This past year has been tight due to the economy for all of us including WRCF. We are not in any financial danger but, we would like to do more for the community in 2009 as we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary. And, that takes money and people. Both are hard things for a non-profit Pagan Church to come by here in Central Florida. One might ask themselves “What can I do to help? I don’t have money or time to give.” Well, you can attend the Witches Ball, have some fun, good food, great music, and get to know your community. I think you that you’ll leave with renewed energy that can help you to find the time and money both for yourself and the community. It’s a win/win deal. In the mean time your Board of Directors will continue to look after the business of running a Church, planning upcoming events and sharing energies with the community. Bright Blessings, | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The Wiccan Religious Cooperative of Florida, Inc. is a nonprofit church, organized and incorporated under the laws of the State of Florida. We have 501(c)3 tax exempt status, making donations to the WRCF tax deductible. The WRCF was formed to help service the growing religious and spiritual needs of the Pagan community in Florida. Our membership is open to any one in the pagan community who wishes to join. Currently we have members in over five counties in Florida and three states across the country. In addition to holding the eight annual Sabbats, we also hold a month Moon Circle and offer educational classes, networking opportunities, reduced rate seminars and workshops for members, cultural and social events, fund-raising events and opportunities for community service. As we define it, Wicca, a.k.a. the Craft of the Wise, may be monotheistic, polytheistic, and/or a blend thereof. Wicca and Paganism are non-dogmatic, non-dualist, nonsexist, non-racist, magickal, holistic, and ecologically oriented. The WRCF is dedicated to the preservation of Mother Earth, the full achievement of the potential inherent in all beings, the revival of the worship of the Old Ones, both Gods and Goddesses, and the creation of a world of peace, love, freedom, happiness and prosperity for all sentient beings. Membership and participation in WRCF is voluntary. We highly encourage our members to become involved in service to the wider Pagan and non-Pagan community through environmental efforts, healing networks and other programs of interest to them. We hold over thirty events each year for the Pagan Community in and around the Orlando Area. The majority of these events are free to the Pagan community. We turn no one away who wishes to celebrate or learn with us because of financial hardship. By becoming a member of the WRCF or making a donation, you help to support an organization that has been in existence for over 15 years and help to ensure its' future. A donation of five or even ten dollars can go along way. For instance, a donation of ten dollars to the WRCF covers the cost of printing twenty issues of the Magick Words, our newsletter, or half the of the Pagan Picnic's monthly budget. Ten percent of our annual net income goes towards long term goal of a permanent worship site in which coveners and solitaries alike may interact and celebrate in a safe, natural environment. WRCF is committed to developing an open, nurturing community. We invite you to grow with us as we strive to expand our awareness and promote understanding of each other, and our chosen faiths.
