Fires, Campfires, Torches and Candles Gathering Archives / Gatherings Date: Mar 12, 2005 - 11:06 AM I need to remind everyone that about the fire / Campfire situation at the festival. There are three open fires at the Festival only; The Main ritual Fire (Actually two fires, the center fire an auxilarry fire for the drummers), The Fire in the center of the Community Area in the center of The Merchants Circle, and a Third community fire that will mst likely be in one corner of the Parking lot accross from the bathrooms (about half way between ritual circle and the pavillion). There will not be any fires approved anywhere else on the site. Cooking fires (and stoves) are allowed, but in raised containers, and must be Physically manned at all times, and extenguished immediately following your meal. Along a similar vein: Open flames (Candles, tiki's, or similar) are fine, but you must extinguish them if you leave the area (even if only briefly) This includes Altars. We are planing a community Altar that can have lit candles, it'll be located either at the ritual circle, or at the Pavillion, so it'll have someone watching it at all times.
